Description
This is the Advent Prayer Service my second graders do at school. It would work for younger or older students as well. Included are the following:
- Two versions of the prayer service: 14 students or 28 students. You can edit the "parts" so you have enough parts for your kids.
- A copy of the readings for the priest or principal
- Letter home to parents
- Words to songs NOT written by me (O Come, O Come Emmanuel and Mary Had a Baby/Go Tell it on the Mountain)
- Words to an Advent Song sung to the tune of Deck the Halls
Both versions of the prayer service have the following:
- Welcome
- Opening song
- Opening prayer
- Advent wreath candle lighting with an introduction and an explanation of each candle's meaning
- Advent song
- Bible reading
- Responsorial Psalm
- Gospel message
- Universal prayers
- Closing prayer
- Closing song
