My hope is that my AP Lit class is NOT a stale, test-prep course in which students slog their way through inaccessible, un-relatable texts. My class is academically rigorous and geared towards college prep. But more importantly, I try to make my class MEANINGFUL (as all good literature classes should be) -- emphasizing critical thinking, empathy, and moral development while students are building the skills necessary for success on the AP Exam! My students typically do very well on the exam, but they also exit my class as better people, more able and willing to engage in the challenges facing humanity and the tough questions of the human experience.
