Description
Introduce the Unit 1 skills of AP Lang in this complete, ready-to-teach, 3-week unit. By the end of this unit, students will be ready for the Unit 1 Progress Check.
This three-week sequence of lessons focuses on the Unit 1 skills:
- RHS 1.A--Identify and describe the components of the rhetorical situation; the exigence, audience, writer, purpose, context and message.
- CLE 3.A--Identify and explain claims and evidence within argument
- CLE 4.A--Develop a paragraph that includes a claim and evidence supporting the claim.
This Unit plan is a Google Drive folder of Doc, Slides, and PDF files. It includes:
- detailed, day-by-day lesson outlines
- engaging activities (including regular short writing activities) to build student mastery of the difficult rhetorical situation and claim-evidence concepts
