Description

This pack includes a 2-week plan for teaching Japan, Japan's culture, and world communities for third and fourth graders.

The pack includes multiple hands-on pieces to engage students in the exploration of the country, while also including core reading and writing components to meet reading, writing, and social studies standards.

The pack includes:

★7 articles about the country (map, flag, geography, famous sites, traditions and holidays, schools, foods, art, government)

★Maps and graphic organizers

★Essential questions for each lesson.

★A final Passport Project

★GEODOUGH recipe to use during the geography lesson

★8 AMAZING photographs to use during the initial picture walk lesson

★FULL lesson plans for the teacher, including standards met throughout the unit.

★A cover file to use for your unit binder cover

This is a complete unit to use with your students to cover the study of Japan and culture. This may take your more time than the two week window that I suggest, based on the amount of time that you have for social studies. You could easily use this within a center during reading if you don't have the time for social studies.

Please let me know if you have ANY questions!

Happy Teaching,

Dan M.
