This reader's theater adaptation is suitable for grades 7- adult. While adhering to the plot of the original work, this adaptation uses more modern language, so that it can be more easily understood by today's students. It can be used with small groups or entire classrooms in both regular and special education. Reading the play aloud, or even acting it out will make the story come alive for students and help them to comprehend the characters, plot, and theme.

If you like this readers' theater adaptation, please take a look at my adaptation of "Gift of the Magi," by O. Henry.
