My students love creating their monster shapes! We make them to celebrate their hard work after our geometry unit.
This was a great activity for my students. They were motivated, engaged and learning. The monsters they created with this resource were colorful and cute.

Monster Themed: 2-D Craftivity + 3-D Craftivity + Shapes Posters.

This is a money-saving bundle that combines three coordinating two-dimensional and three-dimensional shape resources!

Tips: Use cardstock & have students fold along dotted lines crisply before taping edges together. It can be helpful for students to work in pairs when taping the shapes together. I've found that 1/2" transparent tape works best.

Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/“corners”) and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length).
Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.
Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
