Chinese New Year Lantern Craft. Growing file includes: Year of the Dragon, Rabbit and Tiger.
Celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dragon with a craft and new years writing activity. The craft activity comes with 3 lantern patterns for your students to mix and match.
The year of the Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity in Chinese culture.
Includes one blank pattern, One Dragon, one tiger and one rabbit design pattern, one lined writing pattern with the Chinese characters of the new year.
Also includes a color dragon lantern pattern for a premade example.
To make the lantern you will need two sheets of 8.5x11 card stock or heavy copy paper for the lantern sides (4 sides are needed.) There are two sides on each pattern sheet.
You can use an additional sheet of card stock for the directions and square top, or use a 5.5 inch square of construction paper for the top.
Color with marker, crayons or watercolor paints for a bright colorful way to ring in the new year.
Students can write their New Years message on the printed line pattern, or the blank lantern template.
This is a growing file and will eventually include all the animals of the Chinese zodiac.
