What educators are saying

I love all the options for these! I am using them as exit or entrance tickets for my middle schoolers. It gives them something to do when they first enter the class and it’s another helpful assessment tool.
This has been a great tool to use both as bell ringers and for short assignments when doing small group rehearsal/work.

Description

Save time lesson planning for your middle school band, choir (or chorus), & orchestra classes using this set of time signature questions. All slides are ready-to-go and yours for YEARS, just copy and paste into your own PowerPoint or Google Slides to fully customize your daily bell work (or daily work, bell ringers, etc.). With 100 music vocabulary questions ready-to-go, you can review in a snappy manner.

Since this is set is all about music vocabulary, the scope of this product can also be used for band and orchestra classes too if you're in the market for ready-made bell work/bell ringers.

This product also includes bonus bell work templates for you to use for all of your bell work needs throughout the week.

The bell work questions are flattened into the background design - meaning you can't edit the questions or worry about accidentally moving and deleting questions in PowerPoint. This product is meant to be a quick click and go for busy music teachers who don't have time to make questions for their classes. If you do have time to create your own questions, then dm me on Instagram @cathyschoirclass to brainstorm functional and fun questions that you've used for bell work. :)

Anecdote Time: When I first started teaching chorus, my first ah-ha moment was my complete failure of consistent structure at the beginning of class. Once I started my Daily Downbeat (my name for bell work/bell ringers), I noticed that my choir class became more structured since my students fell into the routine of always looking at the board for the day's question and announcements. This gave me a great opportunity to review skills through bell work AND I could easily take attendance while they did it. Win-freaking-win for this newbie teacher. Also, lesson learned in my early Daily Downbeat days - DON'T give kids the questions ahead of time (hence the blank bell work answer sheet. They HAVE to read the board with the announcements and the question to get the points.

Pick and choose what time signature questions you want to use for your bell work depending on your classes out of the 100 questions provided. The layout also comes with text boxes ready for you to type what rep you're rehearsing for the day, the 100th reminder of the upcoming spring concert, and a place to put a funny meme.

This product comes with:

  • 10 Articulation Marking Questions
  • 12 Dynamics Questions
  • 12 Tempo Questions
  • 13 Melody Questions
  • 13 Texture Questions
  • 20 Score Notation Questions
  • 21 Rhythm Vocabulary Questions
  • Google Slides versions linked in the TOU
  • PRINTABLE blank bell work templates

(Okay, a few words didn't have the best homes, but I didn't want to make PowerPoints with a word here and a word there. :P)

This product doesn't come with an answer key for each bell work slide since it will be up to you on how to order them for your classes, just the 100 questions ready-to-use and the blank answer sheet template is included.
